Harvest just finished the 30th summer.
We praise the Lord for the impact of the ministry in the lives of children, youth and adults all over the Midwest in the name of Jesus!
Even more, I’m grateful how the Lord has used Harvest to impact my life. I didn’t set out to be in this kind of ministry, but the Lord arranged it, created it and called me to it. Jesus has used Harvest Ministry over and over again to help my faith grow deeper. It’s stretched me, challenged me and inspired me.
I also didn’t set out to be a fundraiser for a ministry, either. But God has given us this opportunity and at the same time has provided. I have often said, “As long as people contact us, we will keep going.” The Lord has continually opened doors and provided to help make Harvest happen.
As we pass the 30th summer mark and head toward a vision of continued ministry in the next 10 to 15 years, one of the things I need to do is continually invite others to join me in this unique and essential work.
God provides for Harvest (501 c) (3) non-profit mission) through event honorariums (40%), individual donors (35%), and sale of resources (10%). The remainder is a combination of grants and giving surprises!
This note is to connect with new (and old) friends of the ministry who will join me in helping to fund Harvest Ministry, so, as you can see in the information below, we can:
- allow me to keep being available to go
- continue to invite young adults to experience ministry and learn to serve
- continue to invite children and students to Christian conferences and events where they can encounter Jesus.
These things come at a cost, and in recent months, I’m realizing this vision is too awesome to keep it low-key – we want to take what God has built through the ministry and share it with more people!
