Fire-Up Sr. High Conference | February 21-23, 2020 | Troy, IL | fire-up.org
WHAT IS FIRE UP?
Fire-Up is a weekend event for high school students (student ministry groups) hosted in Troy, IL. There are times of worship, small groups, seminars, meals, and lots of fun.
WHY DO WE HOST IT?
We host the event so students have an opportunity to pull away from the usual routine in life, gather with other students from the region, and spend time building their faith and seeking the Lord.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Any high school student is welcome as is any adult who serves in ministry to the next generation. We also invite some college students/adults to help in leadership (small groups, hospitality, etc.)
NEW THIS YEAR…
This year, we’ve invited DJ DANGERFIELD to be the speaker. We’re focusing on what it means to be a citizen of heaven. We’ve also simplified the registration structure – the cost is $65 for students and $40 for adults. If you would like a free t-shirt, just register before February 6. Also new this year will be the seminar time – we’ll be going through short DAN TALKS – focusing on the ideas that helped set Daniel’s mind on things above and trust God with his life.
PROGRAM FOR THE WEEKEND…
Harvest will be leading worship, DJ will be speaking and students will also have an opportunity to meet with a small group for reflection and connection. Lunch, dinner, and refreshments are provided on Saturday and Friday night and Sunday morning refreshments are provided as well. On Saturday afternoon, there is free time for recreation – bowling, hiking, etc – and each group is on their own for this (the bowling ally is rented and taken care of). Each group is responsible for their own housing. Many groups stay in motels located one mile from the church. Others stay in a local church. There are lots of options.
If you are a college student and would like to help with the weekend, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to connect you in serving leadership.
Harvest is a non-denominational worship ministry, DJ preaches in a Baptist Church, the event is hosted at Troy UMC, the core team leaders all serve in full-time ministry in four different area churches and groups come from a variety of backgrounds. During the event, we keep it simple – inviting Christian students to become more committed to Christ and everyone else to respond to Jesus.
INVITATION TO YOU…
Would your church join us? We’re inviting you to bring students to this event. It can be a small group, a youth group, a parent with teen students and friends, a couple of high school local high school students on their own, or a pastor and a new volunteer youth worker with some students to get the ball rolling in their own church.
We’re praying for this 24th year of Fire-Up!
