Today, we are set up and ready to go at Beulah Bible Camp for the week! It’s always a blast to lead upper-grade school (4th-6th grades). Our first year leading this camp was in 1998, and we have been here most each summer since!

We will be celebrating Caleb’s birthday today – June 24! Seems like we’ve known Caleb for much longer than just since Sunday, June 9th when we picked him up at the airport! Praying he has a great birthday today! Since Caleb is from Florida, we squeezed in a trip to the StL Zoo and Ted Drews last week.

On the subject of birthdays, I’m always thankful when a teenager, or anyone really, celebrates a birthday while serving on a mission trip or participating in a church camp week. It’s a witness that our very lives are lived for God’s glory!
Yesterday was a long one — we got up early and left at 6:00 am from Troy to drive to lead worship and preach in Urbana, IL. It was awesome!

After that, we had lunch at Cracker Barrel (thanks to the person who gave us gift cards!) and then drove to Beulah Camp. We took a couple of side tours to take a photo at the big cross in Effingham and look at the Lincoln Log Cabin in Lerna.

A big thanks to Ruby Price for her leadership in social media for the summer. If you haven’t gotten a chance, don’t miss the videos on Facebook and Instagram. We’ve had a ton of fun videos in addition to the music and other ministry! We’re at a weeklong camp and hope to add in some of the music videos here.
Two other great things from this past week: The worship night in Troy, IL, was terrific! Thanks to everyone who attended! It was a packed “house” at the outdoor pavilion in Troy Park. Every bench was full and many people brought chairs. Special thanks to Dan Yarger and Caroline Stewart, who joined us to help with sound and the Harvest tent.

Another was the outdoor worship night at Unity Chapel in Ramsey, IN! We enjoyed meeting with the church and community there, and what a neat setup at that church. We appreciated the hospitality from the church as well.

This post is being published around 6:30 a.m. At 8:00 a.m., we will get breakfast and begin the sound check, and then campers arrive around 10:00 a.m. This week, we will lead worship in the morning and evening and provide music during the noon assembly. We will also help with small groups, devotions, and games. Lots of great opportunities to invite kids to follow Jesus!
